Dr Mehreen Chida-Razvi

Dr. Mehreen Chida-RazviDr. Mehreen Chida-Razvi  is a Research Associate in the Department of the History of Art at SOAS, and Assistant Editor for the International Journal of Islamic Architecture. She earned her BSc and BA from the University of Florida, Gainesville, before moving to London, where she completed an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a second MA and a PhD at SOAS. She specializes in early modern Islamic art, architecture and material culture, and her primary research examines the history of architecture and the built environment, for which she has carried out extensive fieldwork in Pakistan and India. Since 2007, Mehreen has lectured extensively on Islamic and Indo-Islamic Art at SOAS, the Courtauld Institute of Art, the University of Oxford, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and has participated in and been an academic consultant for an Open University educational film on the Religious Arts, and a documentary on the Taj Mahal.
