John Hines


John Hines is Professor in the School of History and Archaeology at Cardiff University, and is a specialist in the archaeology of the early medieval period, particularly the material culture and literature of the Vikings. By combining research in literature, language and archaeology, he researches the relationship between texts and objects in Viking society, and uses these different sources to investigate changes in society and culture during this tumultuous period. John is particularly interested in the continued legacy of Viking literature in Iceland.
